Ethiopian Physicians to Establish a Center of Excellence Hospital in Addis Ababa
The Global Ethiopian Medical Enterprise and Ethio-American Doctors Group have disclosed plans of uniting to establish a Center of Excellence Hospital in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The organizations have revealed that by uniting their resources, the medical mission would have a greater effect on the nation’s health system.
Presently, the membership of both organizations is reported to include over 250 healthcare experts from Ethiopia.
However, pundits have expressed hope that the new initiative will encourage more Ethiopian healthcare experts to join these organizations.
Both organizations have reportedly revealed plans of actively recruiting healthcare experts in Ethiopia to join the project, which has the support of various agencies and individuals across the globe.
The Ethio-American Doctors Group and The Global Ethiopian Medical Enterprise are made up of Ethiopians from different medical specialties in several nations across the world.
Observers have hailed the initiative to build a state-of-the-art medical facility in Ethiopia, noting that it will promote medical research and prevent Ethiopians from travelling abroad for medical care.
Officials say the medical complex is expected to be completed in 2016 and will employ about 400 people.
